BI & Software Developer at Nedbank

The BI & Software Developer is to integrate multiple technologies data and processes to visualise data across multiple platforms resulting in enhanced data consumption, interpretation and understanding.

The individual must have experience in data transformation and web/application development, having data visualisation experience would also be beneficial. They must understand various software development languages that they will be able to utilize in order to integrate the different components within the data visualisation/BI team. The individual must be able to work in accordance with web/application development best practice guidelines and principals. They will also need to be able to assist in the establishment of new best practices, governance and quality standards.

Job Responsibilities

1. Build web applications;
2. Design and build bespoke data visualisation widgets using Java Script and HTML;
3. Assist with integrating various API’s into existing BI applications;
4. Implementing and improving best practice and quality standards in the data visualisation area;

1. Optimising current processes and implementing fully automated business intelligence solutions;
2. Data modelling and data flow processes and optimisation;
3. Troubleshooting and documenting new solutions that can be shared across the team to reduce development time.

This position is goals orientated and allows for a lot of freedom in reaching the goal, therefore the preferred candidate should have excellent self-discipline and time management. A candidate must be able to adapt and innovate very quickly as the field we deal in is constantly changing with new technology and how business is down. In order to add value to Nedbank the candidate needs to ensure they are always a head of the curve

Minimum Experience Level

• 3 – 4 Years Experience in Microsoft SQL Server.
• Understanding of Net, Java Script, HTML, CSS and Python

Qualifications NQF Level

• Matric / National Senior Certificate /Grade 12 / Matric
• National Diploma

Preferred Qualification

Degree in the field of computer science or informatics will be preferred.
