Job Description

To coordinate and manage activities of the The Ikageng Employee Trust (“Ikageng”) and to provide accounting and statutory support to the The Mintirho Foundation Trust (“Mintirho”) in accordance with the requirements of the respective trust documents. To provide technical accounting support and advice to CCBSA finance management on IFRS accounting for all entity types within the South African legal entity structure.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

Statutory Reporting

  • Review the month-end trial balance for Ikageng Employee Share Trust (Ikageng) and CCBSA Mintirho Foundation Trust (Mintirho) as part of the GL close process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Approve Ikageng and Minitrho transactions on the ERP system, as per Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) requirements.
  • Review financial analyses as input into the monthly submission to Group Office on the statutory reporting platform, for Ikageng and Minitrho, to ensure timeous submission of financial statements.
  • Draft, review and provide input into specialised notes in the annual financial statements for entities in the South African statutory group structure, to provide context and completeness to the financial statements.
  • Consolidate the trial balance for Coca-Cola Fortune (CCF) Group used as input into the annual financial statements.
  • Compile the Ikageng Employee Share Trust pack and submit for approval prior to circulation to the board trustees.
  • Provide input into the Minitrho Trust packs prior to circulation.
  • Review the Ikageng award committee pack and submit for approval prior to circulation to the board trustees.
  • Provide input into the review and re/design of the current statutory reporting processes to drive continuous improvement.
  • Coach and provide guidance to team members and business stakeholders to build awareness of statutory compliance.
  • Identify any upcoming accounting standard changes to assess the impact across South African statutory group structure.
  • Facilitate the implementation and co-ordinate all activities associated with any accounting standard changes.

Governance

  • Provide input into the update of Risk and Control Matrix (RACM) narratives relating to Ikageng and Mintirho to ensure alignment to business context.
  • Implement identified RACM controls to comply with the RACM framework requirements and mitigate financial risk to the business.
  • Conduct quarterly self-assessment to identify areas of non-compliance relating to statutory reporting.
  • Attend quarterly stock count within region, as a management control requirement, to ensure accurate stock reporting.
  • Review quarterly impairment survey results of Ikageng and Mintirho to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Source and provide information required for the statutory audit process for identified entities in the South African statutory group structure (including Ikageng and Mintirho) to ensure compliance to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and audit controls.
  • Collate evidence required and upload onto relevant platform as required by Corporate Audit Division (CAD) as per The Coca-Cola Company as well as internal auditors and external auditors to assess internal controls compliance and correct accounting aligned to
  • Provide input into and implement action plans to ensure closure of audit findings and mitigation of further risk to the business.
  • Review monthly General Ledger (GL) reconciliations for identified Ikageng and Mintirho GL accounts, as per RACM requirements.

Trust Administration

  • Consolidate inputs, draft the annual budget for Ikageng and Minitrho and present to the board of trustees for approval.
  • Complete analyses and provide financial support to the Ikageng and Mintirho boards as per request.
  • Review monthly headcount reconciliation between the company and the Ikageng administrator to ensure accurate reporting and tracking of current beneficiaries.
  • Manage the dividend payment process for Ikageng to ensure all trust deed requirements are met.
  • Maintain and update financial schedules and submit for approval as part of the Ikageng IFRS 2 quarterly valuation process.
  • Review the minutes of Ikageng board meetings to ensure all discussed agenda items have been accurately recorded.
  • Execute actions per the “matters arising” from the board meeting minutes and provide feedback to the board in the following meeting.
  • Coordinate the annual general meeting for Ikageng beneficiaries to provide information relating to the trust and comply with the trust deed requirements.
  • Implement and co-ordinate all activities of the trusts and funds in accordance with the requirements in the respective trust documents.

Skills, Experience & Education

  • BCom (Hons) degree in Accounting or Financial Management.
  • Chartered Accountant of South Africa (CA(SA)
  • 4-5 years of post-qualification experience in financial management.
  • Experience in statutory reporting and financial statement preparation would be advantageous.
  • Experience in employee share trust administration would be advantageous.
