Packaging Operator - Mars

The Packaging Operator will be a multi-skilled packing associate who is responsible for achieving maximum efficiency of our packing lines whilst ensuring the highest safety and quality standards are maintained. The packaging operator will also play a pivotal role in identifying and delivering continuous improvement projects within the packaging hall.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• To run packaging lines efficiently
• Complete all quality checks at the right time at the right standards
• Ensure all quality results are recorded
• Work safely and report any hazards
• Changeover between products safely, hygienically and effectively
• Ensure that weekly cleaning is completed to the required standards
• Minimize downtime and communicate issues
• Ensure clear identification of products (Labeling or stickers)
• Efficient organisation (in terms of resources) of the line
• Stop or put product on hold in the case of a quality or safety deviation
• Follow the production plan

What are we looking for?

• Matric / REAL
• Technical (N6/T3) Desirable
• Training and experience in functional tasks (opt. knowledge of feed/food industry)
• Must be willing to work irregular hours and extended shift if necessary
• Safety, Hygiene & Quality conscious
• Initiative, Self-motivated and Team player.
