Our activities include all aspects – exploration; mining; processing and blending; shipping; marketing and selling. In South Africa, we have mining operations in the Northern Cape province, as well as a head office in Centurion, Gauteng, and a port operation in Saldanha Bay, Western Cape.

Job Description:

To perform maintenance effectively to maximize the availability of equipment to sections at the lowest cost by:

• Ensuring maintenance on the Front-End Loader (Komatsu, Caterpillars, LeTourneau)
• Ensuring the changing and replacing of the filter including topping up the Lubes
• Being responsible to attending to the breakdowns of the equipment
• Being able to interpret hydraulic schematics
• Ensuring that the work environment is equipped with the necessary spare parts and defective components are identified, in order to find and implement permanent solutions.
• Ensuring maintenance and testing of all equipment / machinery
• Ensuring functionality, safety and availability to complete jobs within the specified timeframe and budgetary limits.
• Being responsible to collect or supervise the collection of engine oil and other major components when necessary and on the prescribed area, for oil analyses
• Being able provide accurate data and prevent equipment breakdowns
• Adhering to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance

This role is in the Asset Strategy & Reliability Mining Maintenance (HME) department at a J4/2 level reporting to the Engineering Supervisor.

Qualifications:

• Qualified /Trade Certificate as Artisan

• Grade 12 or N3 Technical Matric
• N2
• Driver’s license: Code B (Light Vehicle)
• Medical fitness certificate

Experience:

• 2 Years’ experience as an Artisan
