Boilermaker - Anglo American

We have an exciting position for a Boilermaker to conduct services and overhauling, repairs, condition monitoring services on vehicles, maintenance of equipment in the section according to correct procedure and safety standards and within specific timeframes, in order to assist the team in the functioning of its objectives.

Job Description:

As a?Boilermaker,?you will?conduct work on various equipment pieces (HME / Plant equipment) as required and your responsibilities will include:? 

• Adhering to all health and safety practices requirements and promote good housekeeping to ensure compliance and an environment where team members can deliver their outputs within a controlled risk environment 
• Ensuring all equipment is serviced and maintained as required using the appropriate as per job, in order to achieve optimal functionality within the section and maintain cost effectiveness 
• Ensuring own ability to read equipment drawings enabling their proper servicing and functioning, mark all pieces and equipment when working and when completed to alleviate technical queries 
• Ensuring work is executed as per Operating Model standards & procedures 
• Ensuring job cards are completed in full and returned on time 
• Ensuring all toolboxes and tools are kept in good condition 
• Ensuring installations, commissioning of infrastructure and post-installation work testing for functionality is executed in accordance with specifications to meet deadlines and budget requirements. 
• Ensuring area is cleaned using the appropriate method prior to brazing and / or soldering and consider effects of temperature and time on quality of the product; always comply with all procedures to ensure safety and optimal results 
• Conducting gouging according to correct procedures and based on the necessary precautions to ensure that the process is conducted safety and efficiently 
• Providing assistance to supervisor and co-workers when required within company policies, procedures and guidelines to enhance teamwork objectives 
• Providing advice in all maintenance related matters and tactics to all concerned parties in a pro-active manner aligned with best practices and within agreed upon timeframes to avoid possible problems and uplift competence base.? 

This role is in?the?Asset Strategy & Reliability Plant Maintenance department on a J4/2?level?reporting to?the?Engineering Supervisor.? 

Qualifications:? 

• Grade 12 Certificate / N3 Technical 
• N2 
• Qualified /Trade Certificate as an Artisan (Boilermaker) 
• Code 08 Drivers Licence 
• Medically fit for relevant job  
• Red Ticket  
• Relevant OEM Training 

You will need experience in the following:? 

• 3 Years’ experience as a Boilermaker Artisan
