Professional Nurse at Netcare Sunward Park Hospital

To render and promote quality patient care in accordance with hospital standards/policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for direct and/or indirect nursing care of patient or group of patients. The Registered Nurse will be responsible for assessing, planning, executing and supervising the implementation of care to meet patient needs.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Patient care and counselling
• Perform rostered weekend duties/emergency relief on call duties and associated tasks
• Provide safe, clean and secure environment for patients, staff and visitors
• Utilize supplies and equipment in an economical manner
• Co-operate and collaborate with other hospital departments to provided quality patient care
• Liaise with ward manager on matters relating to patient care
• Keep accurate records at all times
• Serve on relevant committees within the department
• Supervise and evaluate quality of patient care through patient rounds
• Communicate with patient and family regarding patient care and inform unit manager of related problems
• Assist with the coaching of junio staff within the unit

EDUCATION

• Must be registered as a Professional Nurse/Midwife with South African Nursing Council

WORK EXPERIENCE

• Experience in the relevant field of nursing would be an advantage
• Flexibility in working hours / shift work
