Responsibilities:
- Liaise with external business partners and team members on new product development and enhancements.
- Implement improvements & waste management.
- Perform current & new product fault analysis & cost reduction (cost optimisation).
- Perform corrective action/concession implementation, and document creation.
- Assist with concepts, designs, production, prototype builds, analysis, optimisation & projects.
- Integration and management of large 3D CAD models.
- Manage Bills of Materials, drawings and layouts.
- Update manual or component specifications & ensure successful roll out with relevant stakeholders.
- Assist with fault finding & problem solving in the field via drafting of a fault-finding procedure, to ensure the implementation thereof.
- Draft and supply the correct and complete works requirements.
- Coordinate projects allocated through the effective planning and coordination of activities.
- Responsible for the release of the correct Engineering documentation for production.
- Propose solutions & responsible for presentation to the implementation phase.
- Act on instructions/discussions (from production line, warranties) on technical problems, propose solutions, responsible for presentation to the implementation phase and releasing of the correct Engineering documentation for production.

- Issue complete Engineering parts list, drawings and installation instructions.
- Perform feasibility studies for manufacturing and cost material standardisation and specifications.
- Standardise material and specifications.
- Prepare drawing standards related to electrical designs.
- Prepare & implement MAN technical documentation related to functional responsibility.
- Provide technical support for the various MAN Business Units as well as associated suppliers.
- Provide technical support for the various MAN Business Units, as well as associated suppliers
- Responsible for change management related to electrical & associated production departments.
- Stay up to date on new electrical technologies and trends in the automotive industry.
- Work with other Engineers & teams to ensure electrical systems meet product design requirements.
- Create & maintain technical documentation such as schematics, wiring diagrams and specifications for parts and components.
- Conduct testing & analysis of electrical systems & components, ensure all required quality, safety and performance standards are met.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Grade: 12 Matric Certificate
- Degree / Btech / Honours in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics engineering (or equivalent).
Skills:
- Proficient knowledge of CATIA, INVENTOR and AUTOCAD drawing and design software.
- Basic experience with HV electrical experience is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and techniques.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and electrical codes.
- Working knowledge of Bills of Materials
- Technical knowledge in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
- Good communication (oral and written) & interpersonal relations skills.
- Must be results and process oriented, be proactive and team oriented.
- Work independently, though being a team player.
- Analytical and strategic skills to identify problems and then solve them.
- Time management skills.
- Ability to explain complex engineering information clearly.
- Work accurately under pressure and be able to meet deadlines.
- Energetic and change/improvement focused.
- Flexible, active and forward-thinking.
- Project management skills.

Experience:
- Experience in designing, developing, and implementing electrical systems and components - 3 years.
- Experience in the same/similar role - 3 years.
- Mechatronics experience is advantageous.
