Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced Group Specialist: Electrical and Mechatronics, to join the Supply Chain CCBA department. The role will report into the Group Head: Manufacturing Excellence.

This role will lead the advancement of electrical, control, and mechatronic systems across CCBA’s manufacturing footprint by supporting standardisation, improving system reliability, and enabling automation innovation to drive operational efficiency and capability in all markets.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy CCBA-wide standards for electrical infrastructure, PLCs, HMIs, and mechatronic systems to ensure consistency, compliance, and interoperability across plants.
- Develop and Implement SC Strategies and Frameworks: Create and deploy standards, tools, and guidelines to assess technology maturity, optimize TCO, and align technological advancements with CCBA’s strategic goals.
- Support markets with expert advice on electrical systems, automation design, and integration of robotics and mechatronics into production lines.
- Ensure technical requirements for electrical and control systems are accurately scoped, reviewed, and implemented in capital and line upgrade projects.
- Lead troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and control system optimisation to reduce downtime, enhance safety, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
- Promote the implementation of Industry 4.0 technologies such as IoT-enabled sensors, advanced robotics, and real-time control systems to enhance operational agility.
- Deliver training and coaching to engineering and maintenance teams to improve understanding and application of electrical, automation, and mechatronic systems.
- Support adherence to KO standards, regulatory requirements, and safety protocols for all electrical infrastructure, controls, and installations.
- Lead technical audits, assessments, and cross-market knowledge exchange to accelerate the replication of successful solutions and drive continuous improvement.
Skills, Experience & Education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience:
- 8+ years of relevant engineering experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment, with focus on electrical infrastructure and automation systems.
- Hands-on experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA programming, electrical system design, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Proven involvement in capital project support, including specification, installation, and commissioning of electrical and mechatronic equipment.
Skills:
- Expertise in designing, analysing, and maintaining low- and medium-voltage electrical systems and infrastructure in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI/SCADA systems, sensors, and control logic essential for modern production line automation.
- Ability to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software components into cohesive, high-performing systems (e.g., robotics, servo drives, and actuators).
- Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve system failures, process interruptions, and equipment inefficiencies.
- Experience in providing electrical and automation input into capital projects, including equipment selection, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Thorough understanding of electrical codes, KO/CCBA engineering standards, and safety regulations to ensure compliant and risk-free installations.
