Unilever is hiring for a Power Brand Deploy Lead HPC - South East Africa (SEA)

Function: Marketing

JOB PURPOSE

  • Translate SnA BWPC (90% focus)  & HC (10%) priorities into Power Brand Marketing Plans, recognising the nuances of the market, but building brand with an integrated approach, acting as the guardian of these plans and ensuring their effective implementation to deliver accelerated & profitable growth in the Southern African Countries which include Botswana, Namibia, Mozambique, DRC, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Madagascar and Zambia, and flexing into ZA responsibilities where required

  • Deliver ambitious growth and brand equity of the Power Brands by providing a prioritisation of the key SEA growth countries, delivering value creation and unmissable execution of the brand marketing plans across touchpoints.

  • Work collaboratively with SnA team, bringing insights and opportunities to realise the in-market brand opportunities.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • ????Lead SEA BWPC & HomeCare growth strategy and brand marketing plans with priority on consistency of portfolio availability, visibility in key channels and value creation.

  • Ensure integrated brand planning, in collaboration with SnA Marketing, achieve ambitious growth objectives through execution of best-in-class brand experiences across all touchpoints, driving brand marketing & shopper objectives to deliver UBS.

  • Work collaboratively with media, to develop and execution in year activity plans on time, in full, delivering a +ROI and within budget

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Experience

  • Brand Management Leadership: Proven experience in brand management, marketing, or a related field, with a demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing brand strategies, leading teams, holding people accountable, decisive decision making and driving business growth and brand power.

  • Consumer Goods Expertise: Extensive experience in the consumer goods industry, ideally with a focus on beauty, personal care, or a related sector.

  • Integrated Marketing Planning: Proven ability to develop and execute integrated marketing plans across multiple channels, including digital, social, experiential, instore and traditional media.

  • Financial Management: Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets, tracking performance, and making data-driven decisions to drive growth.

  • Agency Management: Proven ability to effectively manage and collaborate with external agencies, including creative, media, and digital agencies.

Additional Desirable Experience

  • Social First Marketing Expertise: Understanding of social first marketing strategy, tactics,and best practices, including content, influencer, community management, PR/earned, experiential and paid media.

  • Data Analytics Skills: Proficiency in using data analytics tools and techniques to measure marketing performance, derive insights, and make data-driven decisions.

  • Passion for Beauty: A demonstrable passion for the beauty landscape, its products, keeping up with trends, innovations, and key players, reflecting a genuine enthusiasm for the field.

  • Marketing Expertise: Deep understanding of marketing principles, strategies, and tactics across multiple channels, including digital, social, experiential, instore and traditional media.

  • Insight: Strong understanding of consumer behaviour, community insights, market trends, shopper insights and competitive dynamics within the relevant industry.

  • Product Understanding: Indepth understanding of the brand formulation and how to bring product superiority to life during the shopper journey to drive desire.

Leadership & Collaboration:

  • Team Leadership & Management: Proven ability to lead, inspire, and develop high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative, accountable and decisive, results-oriented culture.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, external agencies, and stakeholders at all levels, creating commitment and achieving ambitious business impact.

  • Agency Management: Experience managing and directing external agencies, ensuring alignment with brand objectives, and maximising the value of agency partnerships.

Financial & Analytical Acumen:

  • Financial Management: Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to optimise growth.

  • Data Analysis & Insights (preferred): Proficiency in using data analytics tools and techniques to track marketing performance, measure and maximising return on investment, and derive actionable insights.
