This is a full-time on-site role for a Code 10 driver at Cargo Compass SA located in our Cape Town Office. The Code 10 driver will be responsible for transporting goods, ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining the vehicle, and providing excellent customer service.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Drive and operate trucks, code 10
- Follow instructions; locate and read location and road maps.
- Pre-inspect truck.
- Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed.
- Load and unload cargo.
- Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance; comply with all safe work practices, policies, and S.O.P.’s at all times.
- Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy.
- Planning routes and meeting delivery schedules.
- Maintain a positive attitude with customers.
- Keep PDP driver's license up to date.
- Securing cargo and properly arranging and balancing it within the vehicle.
- Always keep the truck clean and presentable.

Truck Driver Skills:
- Traffic laws/ DOT regulations/ driving knowledge
- Pallet jack experience
- To safely operate a tail lift for loading and offloading of cargo at a client.
- Able to pass random drug tests
- Clean driving record
- Listening and verbal communication skills
- Dependability
Minimum requirements:
- National senior certificate
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in a similar role
