Job Description: Responsibilities & Requirements


SACAP (The South African College of Applied Psychology) is the leading independent provider of accredited Psychology, Counselling, Human Resource Management, Business Management and Social Work qualifications, with all courses grounded in psychology. We have campuses in Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Online.

SACAP is looking for a permanent, full-time Housekeeper, based at the Cape Town Campus. The Housekeeper will need to provide a clean, sanitary comfortable and orderly Campus for the students, visitors, staff and educators. The position requires working in dusty dirty and damp areas.

Responsibilities:

The Housekeeper will be responsible for the following areas:

  • Maintenance of Campus: Maintain facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through washing cleaning and replacing of equipment where relevant. Clean up of waste and dirt as required. Responsible for the disposal of trash, waste and other disposable materials. Ability to handle various mechanized cleaning equipment e.g. vacuum cleaners, etc. Able to work with various cleaning solvents. Must comply with the regulations of the Occupational Health and Safety department and use safety precautions in all housekeeping services (e.g. Wet floor signs, etc.). Plan work schedule to accomplish the above
  • Stock taking: To ensure that kitchen is adequately stocked with cutlery and crockery. To replenish goods such as bread, sugar, milk, etc.
  • Provision of tea/biscuits: Ensure that the student kitchen area is adequately provided with tea/ coffee, sugar during break time
  • General: Attendance at all staff meetings. Compliance with regular reporting and providing statistics as and when requested. Attendance at staff/operational meetings etc.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Mature age (18 years and older)
  • Conversant in English Language and an SA Official language
  • Experience in the field of housekeeping
