Communication Specialist - African Bush Camps

About the job

We are seeking a passionate Marketing Communication Specialist to help further develop our brand and generate growth especially tailored towards the B2C side of the business. The team currently consists of 6 people and the role will report directly to the Head of Digital. Your main responsibility will be to produce SEO focused writing, identify stories and angles and develop content around African Bush Camps, our key destinations and products. Another part of the job will be to liaise with our PR agency and maintain relationships with relevant journalists.

• Produce creative and strategic written content in the form of blogs, website updates, press releases and brochures
• Work closely with the Head of Digital and the social media manager to strengthen the brand voice
• Optimise content for SEO and identify content optimisation
• Proactively engage in marketing activities and take the lead on project specific work within the team
• Closely collaborate with our PR agency and hold steady communication with our media partners
• Work closely with the paid search specialist to optimise copy, campaign content and CTAs
• Strategic keyword research and implementation 

About you

• You are an experienced copywriter with minimum 3 years experience 
• Excellent creative writing, editing, and proofreading skills
• You have a very good understanding of SEO best practices
• Proven track record of SEO optimised content online
• You have experience working with strategic PR & Communication and therefore a good understanding of how communication can support and enable the business
• You have a good knowledge of Zimbabwe and Botswana as a destination
• You are passionate about conservation and safari travel
• You are outgoing, socially very comfortable and enjoy building and fostering relationships
