Lighthouse Technician - Transnet NPA

Position Purpose

Maintenance and upkeep of facilities and equipment at various Port and LNS locations, Project execution, 3rd party liaison

Position Outputs

• Maintenance, installations and repairs to grounds, buildings, equipment and associated infrastructure
• Ensuring the correct functioning of operational equipment
• Repairs and maintenance to operational equipment
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding
• Maintain safety, security and housekeeping standards to ensure compliance with Corporate and other policies, procedures and guidelines
• Interact with visitors, clients and service providers in a professional manner
• Do regular stock take and asset verification
• Time management
• Report on breakdowns, client issues, visitor stats, and safety concerns. etc.
• Acceptance, safekeeping, reconciliation and deposit of monies where applicable
• Project Execution and management
• Supervision of staff where applicable
• Driving
• Compliance with all applicable legislation, policies, procedures, processes and guidelines. Compliance with all applicable legislation, policies, procedures, processes and guidelines

Qualifications and Experience

Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Elect/Millwright trade
• Code 10 driver's license

Advantageous

• Skipper’s license
• Installation Electrician or Examiner’s
• Must be able to work at heights and at sea (towers, structures over 60m)
• Ability to carry heavy equipment (over 20kg)

Experience:

• Minimum 2 years experience
