Category Specialist: TEG at Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa

Coca-Cola Beverages South Africa (CCBSA) has an exciting opportunity in our Commercial department. We are looking for a talented individual with relevant skills and experience for a Customer Category Specialist role, which is based in Midrand.

Key Purpose:

To assist the Customer Marketing Manager in delivering revenue growth opportunities to customers and to lead the category initiatives within customer

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare bi-annual customer category opportunity mapping, and present these to customers through innovative solutions and identifying revenue growth opportunities
• Develop customer and shopper research to provide Channel Development Managers, Customer Marketing Managers and Sales with clear opportunities for the customer across the categories, and assist in building these strategies and plans
• Develop and track a look of success that will enable “winning at the point of purchase” (includes the channel strategy development)
• Provide information and insights to customers on category range, SKU rationalization and optimal positioning
• Provides clear capability-building insights for sales to drive revenue growth opportunities
• Assists in the coordination of strategy and business plans for key customers together with the Customer Marketing Manager
• Develop customer specific Innovations of in-trade category equipment
• Develops and tracks specific category performances within customers and provides possible remedial actions and insights
• Responsible for trials run within specific customers and ensures adequate reporting on the trials
• Measure promotional effectiveness with recommendations

Skills, Experience & Education

Qualifications & Experience:

• Matric
• BCom or Marketing Degree,
• 5-6 years of relevant experience in FMCG sales, or/and marketing

• Ability to think analytically and creatively to deliver practical solutions to problems
• Communication – ability to interpret information and communicate it in a simple and relevant manner to working teams as well as decision-making forums, and customers
• Understanding of the decision-making process and what information is needed to facilitate in
• Ability to adapt to the ever-changing market and business requirements

• Understanding of the FMCG environment & category understanding
• Candidate should be a facilitator, administrator and strategic thinker.
