purpose
To support the Credit Risk Manager with design, implementation and monitoring of the entire credit life cycle within Mr Price Money, with particular focus on account origination.
a day in your life
- Review and monitor the end to end credit life cycle of the credit portfolio (including it's associated scorecards), this includes making and driving appropriate strategy changes to deliver or achieve certain business objectives. Collaborate across multi-functional teams, provide sound business decisions or recommendations through analytical insights on the portfolio across the various decision areas, so that the net bad debt outcome and KPI’s of the Group is achieved.
- Deliver all outstanding action items on the Credit Risk focus sheet or task list within agreed/acceptable time frames.
- Provide monthly reporting and commentary on the portfolio performance from a credit risk perspective across the various decision areas and take the necessary actions if there are any deviations from the desired outcomes.
- Create and produce meaningful sets of daily/monthly reports with explanations of fluctuations, this includes reports to monitor the operational effectiveness/efficiency as well developing MIS improvements.
- Understanding the impact within a changing economic environment and facilitating appropriate pro-active change.
- Generate and produce quarterly regulatory reports and send it through the relevant regulators timeously.

are you who we're looking for?
- University Degree: BSc or similar
- 2 + years with credit experience or other similar analytics role in retail/banking industry.
- SAS, SQL and related database tools such as Microsoft Access, advanced Excel.
- Understanding or knowledge of decision agents would be an advantage.
- Great understanding of the credit lifecycle and regulations within the personal markets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal as well as analytical and problem solving skills.
