Maintenance Assistant - Famous Brands

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist engineers and artisans with maintenance work
• Assist with general site, plant and building maintenance
• Perform minor repairs on machinery, changing light bulbs and fix leaking pipes.
• Erecting scaffolding when necessary and if trained and appointed to
• Performing welding and hot work tasks and if trained and appointed to
• Keep work stations and working areas neat and tidy at all times
• Keep hand tools in good working condition and report any damaged hand tools
• Ensure the safe usage of Power Tools and equipment and ensure any defects are reported to the supervisor or management
• Assist the company with any additional appointed duty in relation to health and safety
• Assist the company in filling out necessary paperwork and taking necessary readings on equipment, water readings, etc
• Comply with lock-out procedures
• Assist in moving any machinery
• Work in areas that may be at a relative height as well as confined spaces
• Adhere to company health and safety rules and regulations
• Adhere to company quality and food safety rules and regulations
• Additional Ad hoc duties such as lubrication of machines etc

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12, N3 Mechanical
• 2-3 years experience in FMCG
• Computer literacy essential
• Good Communication Skills
• Attention for detail.
