your purpose
To provide input into the strategic merchandise planning process to merchants and then communicating to operations to ensure a balanced assortment of stock for current stores, new store openings & expansions according to store profiles, taking into account the alignment of space utilization with merchandise sales plans by sub department in order to maximize sales across stores.
your key responsibilities
Stores Sales Planning:
- Review the profile of current stores to ensure that stock levels are met for each store. Review store performance at company level and by store against planned targets in order to be able to address variances in performances. Provide guidance to the Location Planners in order to ensure that sales by sub department are in line divisional forecast.
Space Utilization:
- Strategically analyse space utilization in store by sub department with the merchandise sales plans, in order to ensure alignment of stock versus sales in the space available.

In Stock Management:
- Strategically analyse top performing and seasonal products at company level and recommend consolidations to top performing stores in order to ensure maximum sales.
Distribution Centre (DC) Performance:
- Analyse DC pick performance and delivery performance in order to identify areas of non-performance that will affect sales negatively requiring corrective action.
Reporting:
- Preparing and distribution of various reports relating to store performance, stock performance, operational efficiencies to highlight opportunities for utilizing stock more effectively in order to drive sales.
Requirements
Education:
- Degree: Bachelor of Commerce.
Experience:
- Merchandise Planning/ Location Planning Experience.
- Retail store experience/understanding.
Knowledge/ Skills:
- Analytical skills.
- Problem-solving.
- Communication skills.
- Negotiation skills.
