Graphic Designer: Durban - Mr Price Home

Purpose

Mr Price Home is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join our Trend and Design team.

The Mr Price Home Design team is responsible for the creation of original, trend-driven design and surface pattern for the textiles and homeware in our stores. We collaborate closely with the merchant teams to build assortments that satisfy our customers and drive sales.

The Graphic Designer role offers you the opportunity to create original design pattern packs – to brainstorm, collaborate and react quickly to new directions alongside the team of creatives in our Design department.

Responsibilities

You will align seasonal pattern development to trend and ensure the seamless execution of pattern across your given departments. Once developed and approved, you prepare artwork accurately for suppliers and manufacturers to execute.                                                                                             

Requirements

• Grade 12 and a Degree / Diploma in Graphic Design or Fine Art is required
• 4-5 years of experience as a Graphic Designer / Designer / Textile Designer
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator and Photoshop CC)
• Knowledge of trends and an understanding of colour, design execution and scale
• Must be able to create repeat artwork
