The role

Processing of accounting records onto a computerized accounting system resulting in an accurate and complete set of books, for the entire BBD Group, including all of our hubs including South Africa, Portugal, the Netherlands, UK and India.

• Responsible for the full internal accounting function
• Manage recons on all accounts
• Annual budgets
• Administrating all cashbooks of the entity, including foreign bank accounts and petty cash
• Compiling monthly inter-company confirmations and invoicing
• Reconciling and posting all month-end journals, preparing and maintaining various general ledger reconciliations monthly, and managing the annual audit together with the financial manager
• Ensuring all inter-company confirmations agree and are accurately completed on the reporting software
• Fixed assets
• Monthly payroll journals

Requirements

• BCom degree or equivalent accounting degree
• 5 years of relevant experience preferably working for a service group
• Strong finance-based analytical skills
• Group company and consolidating experience
• Experience with foreign entities
• IFRS
• IT, SQL Database and advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Able to function well under high seasonal pressure
• Self-motivated and positive
• Strong analytical and auditing skills
• Strong team player

Required Computer Package Experience

• Pastel Evolution an advantage
• Proficient in Excel, Word at intermediate level, which includes pivot tables and advanced formulas
• Payroll Sage People an advantage
