Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the overall development and execution of the brand & culture strategy and calendar activities, building KFC as a youthful brand
  • Innovating, ideation, planning, executing, and managing robust campaign brand strategies, project lifecycles, and initiatives that translate into impactful communication, based on a solid understanding of consumer insight, audience relevancy, and culture.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders across organizations to implement brand plans including
    • 360 media campaigns
    • Collaborations
    • Activations
    • New product launches
  • Executing critical thinking while analyzing and interpreting financial analytics, quantitative and qualitative research reports, consumer trends, and market intelligence and integrating knowledge gained into new and existing planning, product positioning, and strategic development.
  • Monitoring and tracking Brand Health Performance in conjunction with the consumer insights team and understanding implications of measures and changes required
  • Creative briefing, management & execution of public relations initiatives and large advertising campaigns (TV, radio, out-of-home, digital, social and activations).
  • Establishing clear lines of communication and confidently engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Delivering optimal ROI for the business through partnering with creative and media teams to ensure timely and efficient implementation of campaigns
  • Compiling, implementing, monitoring and managing of budget spend

Stakeholders

  • Internal:  Marketing Manager, Marketing Director, CMO, Executive Team, Marketing, Development, IT, Ops, NPD, Supply chain and Finance.
  • External: Marketing Agencies, Franchisees, Local Store Marketers

Travel Requirements

  • Normal working conditions in the Office plus regular field trips

Qualifications

  • Tertiary degree level qualification, with a major in marketing or business-related discipline, preferred
  • Postgraduate qualification preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of Brand Management experience; with a minimum of 3 years in a corporate environment
  • Consumer Products Company, preferably R1bn+ in size; Retail, service and/or multi-outlet industry highly regarded
  • Experience in corporate and/or strategic planning, branding, advertising, sales promotion, product development, pricing, market research

  • Attention to detail with a focus on flawless execution
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills with the ability to build and nurture strong working relationships both internally and externally
  • Manages the creation of new or updating of existing platform, activation, campaign and events together with cross-functional teams
