Mr Price Logistics is looking for a qualified and experienced Instrument and Control Technician, the role will be based at the Mr Price Group DC in Hammersdale. The successful individual will actively maintain operational equipment through planned preventative maintenance, thereby eliminating unplanned production lost time and extending the life span of equipment through equipment efficiency and eliminating downtime while maintaining high-level health and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- To carries out routine preventative maintenance of equipment according to schedules, check list and specific equipment requirements, this includes cleaning electronics systems and overhauling equipment.
- Repair and or replaces defective parts, reassemble overhauled equipment and carry out necessary tests and performance monitoring upon start-up.
- Reassembles and test equipment in accordance with requirements or test schedules.
- Attend to electrical & control breakdowns and repairs within the Distribution Centre to ensure the efficient running of operations and improve production uptime.
- Assist in the monitoring of plant equipment for its healthiness using EV10.
- Perform technical investigation & root cause analysis.
- Perform continuous improvement - improve the reliability of equipment/process, improve safety, improve maintainability, reduce cost, active participation in major development projects.
- Maintain/update the job completion records.
- Assist in planning annual shutdown and major equipment turnarounds and carries out a complete overhaul of instrument equipment.
- Update records and monitor planned maintenance activities as per schedule.
- Create notifications, take work orders and prepare spare parts for scheduled maintenance works.
- Strict adherence to plant safety protocols & good housekeeping.

requirements
- National Diploma in Electronic Engineering + Electrical or instrument trade test
- 5 years minimum experience in a production environment
- knowledge of PLC, UPS, AC variables speed drive & control systems experience
- Understanding of third-generation process control environment
