Job Purpose

To provide support services to the credit community to enable them to perform their functions and meet their targets and objectives thereby achieving Nedbank's strategy of managing risks wisely

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage stakeholder confidence in Credit Risk practices and credit processes and understand inter-cluster and Group impact through the quality of reporting.
  • Provide an overview of the book by developing and preparing portfolio review presentations based on Management Information Systems (MIS).
  • Provide feedback monthly by drafting business reports as at month end.
  • Improve business results by participating actively in projects related to system and process enhancements across the organisation.
  • Fulfil stakeholder requirements by ensuring that general and operational administrative functions are provided as and when required.
  • Regular engagements with internal stakeholders and group functions to enforce cluster objectives and support flow of information across these partners
  • Support and enable regular engagement and influence with Regulators (NCR & DTI) and Industry Bodies (BASA) 
  • Enable support to finance on special projects by investigating and interrogating systems and data elements.
  • Develop, maintain and implement appropriate action plans for Group and business Credit Regulatory & Risk Programmes
  • Enable delivery on digital through ensuring that Credit Risk practices and turnaround times are aligned to delivering on the business needs

  • Effective collaboration, participation and support ito Credit projects and initiatives for benefit to the bank i.e. projects delivered on time, within budget and operating at desired level
  • Provide analytical support to the greater team with regards to credit related queries within acceptable timeframes.
  • Ensure collaborative working relationships through regular, honest engagement with managers and team members.
  • Ensure business effectiveness by providing input into systems, processes and policies.
  • Understand and embrace the Nedbank Vision and Values by leading by example and re-enforcing values during meetings.
  • Contribute to a culture conducive to the achievement of transformation goals by participating in Nedbank Culture building initiatives (e.g. staff surveys etc).
  • Create a client service culture through various required interventions.
  • Encourage team to generate innovative ideas and share knowledge.
  • Support business by providing training on systems and processes.
  • Ensure business effectiveness by providing input into systems, processes and policies.
     

Minimum Experience Level

  • At least 5 years Credit Risk Analysis or management experience of which 2 years must be within Retail and Business Banking 
  • Understanding of banking regulations, specifically the role of the NCR, the SARB as well as BASA
  • Data analytics and management software skill (SAS and SQL)

Qualifications NQF Level

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce (Statistics, Economics or Finance)
