Supply Chain Trainee - Mr Price Sport

Job Purpose

Provide administrative support in the Supply Chain process as well as proactively execute and monitor all Supply Chain activities in line with the divisional strategy with the objective of being cost-effective and adding value to planned sales target

Job Responsibilities

Analysis & Research

• Assist in monitoring and analysing key metrics across the value chain to measure performance and highlight potential risks to the business.
• Support with identifying opportunities to reduce shipping costs through consolidation, container utilisation and shipment planning initiatives to maximise additional profitability opportunities and to reduce waste in the value chain.

Strategy Support

• Provide support in the developing and implementing of a short- and long-term Supply Chain strategy to support the business needs and merchandise direction.

Supplier Development & Management

• Support with the collating and validating of key onboarding documents.
• Report any supplier non-compliance to the respective Sourcing Specialist/ Supply Chain Analyst.
• Assist and guide new vendors to ensure their understanding of our requirements, policies, and procedures.

Critical Path Management

• Support in the management of the critical path to ensure on-time delivery of merchandise.
• Call out any potential delivery delays to the respective stakeholders and work together on proactive solutions to mitigate the impact on the business.

Requirements

• Grade 12 with a Diploma/ Degree: Supply Chain / Logistics related
• 0 – 1 year experience
• Relationship Management
• Effective Communication
• Shipping & importing process awareness
