Sponsorship Manager - Mr Price Sport

Do you have a love for Sport? Do you eat, sleep, and breathe it? The Sponsorship Manager is responsible for Mr Price Sport's marketing sponsorship and local event strategies, relationships, and activations. This includes multichannel consumer-facing sponsorships and events, sports and entertainment partnerships, off-premise scale events, and community-specific opportunities that drive brand awareness and potential sales.

The position partners with Merchandise, Brand Marketing, and Retail Operations to ensure optimal delivery and awareness.

Key Responsibilities

 Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement sponsorship and athlete strategies aligned to the business and brand strategy.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement activities and events that are affiliated with the Mr Price Sports brand and subbrands successfully.

Sponsorship Relationship Management

• Create industry relationships and recruit potential sponsorship opportunities, through research and travel to industry events.
• Facilitate all partnership planning meetings, status calls, timelines, and workflows with each partner.

Social Content Creation

• Develop a Social Media content plan with the Social Media Specialist for relevant sporting events to ensure customers are fully aware of Mr Price Sport's affiliation to athletes and/or ambassadors and event relationships.
• Contribute ideas and content for Social Media posts that will elevate the Mr Price Sports brand.

Budgets & Analysis

• Develop and manage the annual budget to support partners, events and individual athletes.
• Develop monthly recaps that include both qualitative and quantitative insights and progress against KPIs and ROI metrics.
• Ongoing evaluation of all programs and sponsorships, making recommendations on additions and/or retirements based on impact and strategic direction.

People Leadership

• Lead and drive the sponsorship team to achieve sponsorship KPI's & strategy.
• Develop and coach the team, including effective performance feedback, to achieve a high-performance team.

Requirements

• Degree in Marketing / Communication
• 4-5 years of experience in sports marketing, sponsorship consulting and/or activation. 
• Experience in retail or FMCG preferred.
• Experience mentoring and developing others preferred.
• Knowledge of the different sporting types, athletes and equipment.
• Budget administration
• Business acumen
• Proficient in the Microsoft Suite
