Driver - Abraham Kriel Childcare

The incumbent is responsible for providing secure and timely driving services to transport passengers, goods and/or documents, and to perform all driving duties of the Community Services Programmes.

Responsibilities:

• Assist staff to prepare and pack goods for delivery. This includes daily meals and/or food parcels for beneficiaries.
• Ensure that goods for delivery are secured, packed, loaded and unloaded in accordance with all company and law-enforced safety requirements.
• Distribute meals and or any other items to the points of distribution.
• Load and unload when necessary.
• Collect donations and assist with shopping for all programs.
• Ensure vehicles are carefully looked after, cleaned, used economically, and maintained in an efficient condition at all times.
• Daily inspections on the vehicles to ensure road worthiness and to check for any abnormalities and regularly check oil, water and tyre pressure.
• Recognise mechanical and electrical faults and report them to the supervisor.
• Take vehicles to designated workshops for required services.

Requirements

• Have senior Certificate and further training will be an advantage
• Have 2-3 years commercial driving experience
• Have a valid Code 10 drivers license with a PDP
• Have good time management skills and be physically fit
• Have no traffic violations and/or accident record
• Be able to speak, read and write English fluently
