JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Security Officer’s primary purpose is to protect the personnel and all assets of the business and to prevent loss and damage by reporting any violations with regard to policies and procedures.

Duties will include but are not limited to :

• Ensuring access and egress is controlled at all SA Metal property by completing the necessary registers and operating the gates
• Searching pedestrians, vehicles and personal belongings of any person/s exiting SA Metal premises
• Ensuring that all customers and visitors are issued with PPE and that the PPE is returned after their visit
• Ensuring that any item/s leaving the SA Metal premises is accompanied by the relevant documentation
• Ensuring that all company procedures are adhered to before granting access to staff viz. COVID protocols, Breathalyzer tests are conducted and passed
• Ensuring that all gates are manned at all times
• Ensuring that all the assigned areas are patrolled at regular intervals
• Ensuring that all company policies and procedures are fully adhered to at all times

QUALIFYING CRITERIA :

• Previous security experience
• Registered with PSIRA – minimum Grade C
• Grade 12 or equivalent with good numeracy and literacy skills
• Willing to work shifts, both day and night
• Flexible and willing to work overtime
• Excellent communications skills
