Join us as a Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Manager whose core responsibility, will be the overall management of Safety, Health, Hygiene and Environment areas, including Process Safety Management (PSM) at our Precious Metals Refinery (PMR) operating asset.

Job Description
Managing, integrating, supporting implementation, and coordinating the SHE and PSM policies, management plans and standards at PMR.
Monitoring and reporting on SHE and PSM performance.
Manage the Safety, Health, Hygiene, and Environment teams at PMR that deliver on the SHE and PSM strategies.
Promote continuous improvement through effective communication, coaching, mentoring, and forming collaborative relationships with team members.
Facilitate and manage the implementation and/or improvement of SHE systems ensuring that they are adapted to the business environment.
Manage SHE and PSM Systems functional staff including the implementation of People Development Plans.
Responsible for the general management of the PMR SHE function including budget preparation, cost control, staff capability, and performance assessments, etc.
Provide guidance on SHE-related matters, including hazard/aspect identification, risk assessment/management, and risk/impact control, with particular emphasis on the management of long-term risk.
Report to site management on SHE performance and comply with legal, corporate and functional centre reporting requirements.
This role forms part of the Safety, Health & Environmental function of the Precious Metal Refinery (PMR) at a Band 5 level reporting to the General Manager with multiple reports
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Completed BSc/BEng (NQF7) in relevant Sciences or Technical discipline.
Completed formal qualification in a relevant Safety, Health & Environmental discipline combined with demonstrated practical experience.
Registration with a South African professional (SH or E) institution would be advantageous.
Completed or in the process of completing a Business/Commercial qualification (MBA, MBL, MDP, LDP) would be advantageous.
Required Experience:
At least five (5) years of Safety, Health, and/or Environmental experience at a managerial level.
Experience in mining and/or process industry would be advantageous.
Other Requirements:
Valid certificate of Fitness.
Advanced computer literacy.
Valid South African Drivers License.
