Creditors Clerk - Bidvest International Logistics

The BIL KZN Finance team is looking to appoint a Creditors Clerk to their energetic team. The successful incumbent will ensure the accurate capturing, processing and payment of Supplier invoices within agreed terms. The incumbent will process documentation in accordance with the relevant South African tax laws and ensure compliance with Financial Internal controls and Company procedures at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all capturing is completed accurately and timeously
• Ensure all payment reconciliations are prepared timeously
• Ensure all payments are reviewed timeously
• Review deductions on all payment advice and actively eliminate queries
• Identify root causes of capture/upload errors
• Review the AP Age analysis on a monthly basis.

• Continuous evaluation of the processes and procedures to ensure that the most efficient and effective methods are used to achieve the goals of the department
• Identifying areas automation can be developed in the payment process
• Adhoc requests by your Manager/Supervisor
• Ensuring that amounts due on the supplier statement is reconciled and paid timeously and that all queries are resolved timeously
• Identify any major discrepancies and ensure profits are not over / understated on a daily basis.
• Query and follow-up with Suppliers timeously.
• Identify root causes of capture/upload errors to ensure efficiency in capturing by using upload templates
• Facilitate training sessions with the team to improve efficiencies
• Prepare commentary for Expense variances
• Ensuring current capture is up to date and correct to reflect respective costs in our P&L to ensure costs are recognised in the correct period
• Ensure the P&L is reviewed timeously for Flash reporting
• Prepare month-end journals
• Prepare month-end General Ledger reconciliations

Qualifications & Experience

• Matric/Grade 12.
• Applicants must have passed Accounting 2 or have in their possession a Financial Accounting Diploma
• Working knowledge of CargoWise One
• Experience in a Finance environment would be preferable
• Experience in an operational shipping industry would be preferable
