We're seeking an energetic and dynamic Customer Service Representative to join our Customer Service team at Johannesburg.

You'll be the primary contact for clients when booking shipments and providing general and specific information from tracking shipments to quoting. The role involves ensuring the shipment will run as smoothly as possible through detailed pre-planning.

What you'll be doing:

  • Handle all client inquiries received via phone or email

  • Provide all quotations via phone and email

  • Receive bookings via phone, email & CRC (Customer Resource Centre), and update in the World-STAR system / TMS

  • Monitor and track ongoing shipments.

  • Keep clients fully updated as to the status of their shipments, especially in regards to any delays.

  • Action all notes sent to individual World-STAR sign-on, as well as the JNBCS Notes Browser.

  • Have full knowledge of how to use the internal systems including TMS, World-STAR, Ops-STAR, Bio-STAR & Global Intranet.



  • Determine which shipping system should be used for any given cold chain shipment.

  • Enter a clear pickup and special delivery instructions advising both origin and destination office on how the cold chain shipment should be managed.

  • Communicate any temperature results to the client as soon as the delivery has taken place after reviewing the results to check any deviations.

What your background should look like 

What you'll have:

  • 2 years experience in a Customer Service role. Business-to-Business experience is an advantage

  • Prior experience in, or knowledge of, working within the logistics, supply chain or pharmaceutical sectors would be advantageous

  • Proficiency in MS Office

  • Strong Team player – able to work constructively with colleagues inside & outside the department to ensure the best possible service is provided to the client at all times.

  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

  • Ability to independently manage multiple tasks, work under pressure and meet deadlines

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
