Job description

Join the dynamic marketing team on site at Canal Walk as our Marketing Sales Manager. You need to be a creative self-starter with an excellent work ethic, highly motivated, high energy, target and solutions driven with an exceptional eye for quality and detail. The high exhibition standards at Canal Walk must be top-of-mind.

You will coordinate the sales function for this world class super-regional shopping centre including promotional courts sales, advertising space, exhibitions and sponsorships. You should have previous experience in sales, communications, events or advertising and a good overall understanding of marketing in a retail environment. It is crucial that you are independent and self-motivated but thrive within a team environment at the same time. Your role will focus on driving income growth however you will also form part of the marketing team, contributing to other functions as well.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years' previous sales experience in exhibitions, advertising, media, the marketing industry
  • Great organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong admin skills
  • Computer Literacy - MS Office including word, excel and powerpoint – a given (Excel advanced level NB)
  • Ability to generate new client leads and referrals
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Own vehicle and valid licence essential
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, meet income targets, deadlines and retain a sense of humour
  • Hands-on approach, on-the-ball, high energy, driven
  • Committed to high-level service delivery
  • OHSA compliance know-how
