Housekeeper / Cleaner - Komati Gorge Lodge International

The Basic Gist:

Located in Fourways,with 23 unique, literary-themed rooms, 3 unique culinary destinations, and a variety of special event spaces to choose from, our landmark hotel is dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for all of our guests.

The Job:

• Interact with guests on a daily basis and help with any guest needs in a prompt, efficient, and pleasant manner.
• Clean assigned guest rooms thoroughly according to the Housekeeping Checklist and in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Change linens, make beds, and turns mattresses as required.
• Cleans bathroom, including toilet, sink, and bathtub.
• Replenishes supplies such as bathroom supplies, drinking glasses, and writing supplies in guest rooms.
• Cleans floors, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
• Dusts furniture.
• Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Empties wastebaskets, transport trash, and waste to disposal area.
• Checks to make sure all small electronic appliances, such as hairdryers and alarm clocks, are working in rooms.

What we are looking for:

• Weekend availability (Fridays, Saturdays & Sundays) is a requirement for this position.
• Previous hotel housekeeping experience will be a major asset.
• Ability to manage time effectively and work independently in an efficient manner
• Possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Effective troubleshooting skills and ability to recognize & prevent problems before they arise.
• Proficient verbal communication skills are a must
• An outgoing and confident attitude will be an asset
