Job Description:
You will be responsible for delivery of direct/indirect nursing care under the direct and/or indirect supervision of a Registered Nurse.
You will also be responsible for:
- The carrying out of nursing care to fulfill the health needs of a patient or a group of patients.
- Caring for a patient, and executing a nursing care plan for a patient, including the monitoring of vital signs and the observation of reactions to medication and treatment.
- The prevention of disease and the promotion of health and family planning by means of information to individuals and groups.
- Promoting and maintaining hygiene, physical comfort and reassurance of a patient.
- Supervision over and maintenance of a supply of oxygen to a patient.
- Monitoring of vital signs and the observation of reactions to medication and treatment.
- The prevention of disease and the promotion of health and family planning by means of information to individuals and groups.
- Preparation for and assistance with surgical procedures and anesthetic.
Experience, Skills and Knowledge required:
- 3 to 5 years experience post registration with SANC.
- Basic understanding of nursing legislation and related legal and ethical nursing practices.
- Trauma experience will be an added advantage.
- Must have the capacity to perform a technical function and work according to scope of practice.
- Must have ability to produce work of high-quality standard by accurately checking processes and tasks.
Qualifications:
You should have:
- Grade 12 or an equivalent qualification.
- Enrolled Nurse Certificate and currently registered with the South African Nursing Council.
Additional information:
- Certificate of fitness test will be required.
- Valid driving license
