Code 8 & 10 Drivers - TB HIV Care

TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally?recognised?non-profit?organisation. TB HIV Care provides health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. Purpose of the position This post will be responsible for the efficient deployment of the outreach team, ensuring the safety, cleanliness and maintenance of the programme vehicle. ?(This is a contract position renewable based on funding)

Skills and Competencies

• Shuttle the team for outreach on a day to day basis. Might include late night work
• Support the team with packing the vehicle for outreach as required
• Delivery of goods and documents as required
• Ensure the cleanliness of the vehicle is maintained
• Ensure that the vehicle is in good running order. If noticing any concerns regarding the vehicle, highlight the programme manager immediately
• Maintain and update accurate log sheets and required reporting for all trips completed
• Abide by traffic laws at all times Maintain confidentiality at all times
• Be approachable and sensitised toward sex workers
• Represent the organisation with pride and ensure you adhere to the ethos and principles
• Attend briefing meetings, debriefing sessions, staff/site meetings and other meetings as asked to do so on regular basis
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by the Programme Manager

Minimum Requirements

• Matric / grade 12
• 2 years’ driving experience
• Valid code 8 or 10 driver’s licence with a professional driving permit (PDP)
• Defensive driving certificate will serve as an advantage
• Experience in sex work programming is beneficial
• Computer literacy - MS Office package
• Fluency in English and Zulu
• Clear criminal record
