Job Description

  • Maintaining customer service through demand vs. capacity planning.
  • Supporting operations in achieving productivity by effective production and delivery planning.
  • Working with minimal supervision.
  • Good interpersonal skills and working in a team

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports Operations in achieving productivity through KPI’s by efficient planning of production and delivery.

  • Maintains Customer Service through demand vs. capacity planning by:
  • Checking meal, pellet and crumble order and delivery tons are not higher than factory and fleet capacity. Rearranges orders if factory or fleet capacity has been exceeded.
  • Plans production programme with the Production Team according to customers deliver schedule request to ensure optimal production (longest runs, reduce downtime etc.).
  • Communicates constantly with Production and Delivery team on production and delivery plan changes.
  • Builds relationships with customer by providing customer with accurate information regarding orders, deliveries and any unforeseen circumstances that might delay order or delivery of feed to ensure customer service.
  • Follows up with customer to obtain prescriptions from Vets for feed that requires medication. Facilitates the maintenance, renewal and updates of prescriptions required for customers in feed medication.
  • Documents any customer complaints and recalls received in line with ISO procedure and forwards to the relevant party to comply with the TIMS.
  • Plans delivery programme with Unitrans according to customers deliver schedule request to ensure optimal delivery and payload.
  • Marks delivery board with next day’s delivery schedule so that it is visible and everyone is aware of the delivery schedule for the next day to ensure optimal utilisation and planning of delivery vehicles.
  • Liaising with Unitrans and external transporters regarding changes to delivery scheduling in order to have the changes executed timeously and according to plan.
  • Communicates with Unitrans on a constant basis on turnaround times and delays in order to have an updated picture of deliveries and to make any adjustment and notify the customer. Elevate deviations from standard to Customer Services planner and Logistics Manager.
  • Ensure accurate recording and delivery of customer orders (quantity, form, feed code, medication, delivery site etc).
  • Captures all relevant information into SAP and ensures that Agric bin stocks are above minimum requirement. Reacts to SAP variances and uses SAP as a tool to optimise the production and delivery programme.
  • Liaise with Finance to ensure that customer credit control requirements have been met before delivery.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma in Logistics or Supply Chain Management would be an advantage
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a customer service environment Knowledge of Mtech and SAP would be a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge of credits and returns is a key requirement
  • Previous experience in pallet management
  • Sound computer skills
