Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily equipment checks. This includes verifying that all external cameras are set up and broadcasting, and that all the video storage equipment is online and functioning;
  • Liaise with installer/maintenance, Security Administration and IT teams to address malfunctioning surveillance equipment within the shortest reasonable timeframe.
  • Ensure video surveillance equipment maintenance programme exists and is executed, and for establishing and enforcing maintenance standard.
  • Maintain a written log of any suspicious activities observed and reported.
  • Ensure all surveillance client specific SLAs are met.
  • Extract and provide monthly SLA surveillance reports/ snap shots to the Service Delivery Manager or Service Delivery Team, within timelines.
  • Monitor the facilities for any suspicious behaviour, with specific focus on high risk and restricted areas.
  • Extract footage requested by management, clients or contractors, and follow the approved procedure in regards approval and release.

  • Review footage for all incidents and compile reports on all findings, within no more than 8 hours, or within SLA where <8 hours.
  • Monitor all security personel (Control Room and Guarding Devision), and perform minimum of a daily review of security personell manning high risk stations.
  • Monitor all entrances and exits to ensure guarding division is monitoring the metal detectors and thermal scanners

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Matric
  • Minimum 5 years Law enforcement experience.
  • Minimum 4 years’ working experience on surveillance equipment
  • Experience and competence in report writing, and ability to assist local law enforcement to compile a case docket
  • Experience and competence in testifying in court about any activities they observed on the system and specifications of the recording system
  • Experience in Vendor Management and related SLA’s (preferred)
  • Driver’s license essential
