Key Responsibilities:

Mobilift Operations

  • Determine load weights and check them against lifting capacities in order to prevent overload
  • Position lifting devices under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, and boxes, and secure material or products for transport to designated areas
  • Load and unload bundles from trucks, and move containers to storage bins
  • Operate or tend automatic stacking, loading and packaging

Equipment/ Vehicle maintenance

  • Inspection and completion of the equipment checklist before the commencement of work
  • Testing of all hydraulic systems before operating the mobilift
  • Conduct basic maintenance activities on equipment, such as cleaning, lubricating, fuelling, etc.
  • Ensure that the equipment is maintained and serviced according to set schedule or whenever required

Administration and reporting

  • Compile an accurate shift report (logbook)
  • Review daily work and schedules to determine orders
  • Complete role-related administration

Stakeholder Relations

  • Maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.
  • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders

ESG Compliance

  • Align with international responsible mining principles.
    • SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.

SHE Compliance

  • Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure loading and offloading activities are performed appropriately and in compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Identify safety-related problems for the supervisor
  • Identify actions that could prevent and improve safety and work performance
  • Promote safety awareness by reminding team members to follow work procedures and identifying unsafe work practices
  • Comply with the key control procedure at all times
  • Complete risk assessments
  • Participate in investigations into workplace incidents
  • Safeguard company assets
  • Comply with the requirements of the Quality Management System.
  • Focus on safe production & operational excellence
  • Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence

Minimum Required Qualification:

  • Level 2: Grade 10 and National Certificates level 2 Certificate GET Education, Training and Development

The Appointee should:

  • NQF 2 Elementary Certificate (Grade 10 or equivalent)
  • Completed recognised Forklift Driver training with a valid licence
  • At least 1 year of experience as a forklift driver within a warehouse environment.
  • Valid Driving license (Code 10)
  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.
