Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited (MRoA) has been operating in South Africa for 50 years, although the Munich Re (Group) was active on the Continent via Munich Re in Munich for some years prior to commencing the Southern African operation in Johannesburg in 1968. The Head Office of MROA is in Johannesburg, with a client service Life office situated in Cape Town.
Your job
- Independent review and posting of reinsurance accounts and in contact with clients and brokers to optimize processing
- Independent commercial claims assessment and processing in line with our contractual and business relationships
- Ensure the quality of data for the quarterly closing and annual financial statement on contract level
- Collect and accounting of accounts and outstanding balances funds from our ceding companies
- Maintain correspondence, issue payments in line with contracts

- Monitor the key performance indicators in the relevant area of work
- Cooperate and support of other middle offices (Munich, Madrid, Princeton and Singapore)
- Constructive collaboration with business, claims and finance
- Analyse and present reinsurance and accounting matters to various stakeholders
- Participate in project and working groups globally
Your profile
- Bcom Accounting or Insurance & Risk Management
- At least 3 years of experience in Reinsurance Accounting Sound teamwork and conflict-solving skills and a confident and engaging manner
- Excellent numeracy skills, experience and accuracy in dealing with figures
- Openness to new ideas and innovation, high degree of commitment
- Good PC skills (MS Office, Excel in particular)
- Ability to work under pressure
