Driver Grader at Murray & Roberts

Murray & Roberts Cementation invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Driver Grader. The successful candidate will report directly to the Miner General .The company will provide remuneration and benefits relevant and appropriate to the position. Preference will be given to Historically Disadvantaged South African (HDSA) candidates. Applications only open to South African Citizens / Permanent Residents

Job Specification...

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not be limited to

• Safely grade roadways underground by means of a motor grader in accordance with M&RC’s standard operating procedures
• Plan and conduct road maintenance (and water drainage) to standard

• Assess surface conditions and grade site to achieve suitable hauling surface
• Safe and timeous filling up of hydraulic oil
• Maintain diesel levels and sufficient engine and transmission oil levels
• Comply with key control lock-out system
• Complete pre and post checklists and immediately report defects
• Assist with the washing and cleaning of the grader
• Maintain good housekeeping standards
• Comply with the Client’s & M&RC’s procedures, policies and standards
• Proactive risk identification and mitigation
• Effective self-management in alignment with M&RC’s values
• The incumbent must be medically fit to work underground and must successfully complete M&RC’s in-house training.   

Minimum Requirements...

Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills:

• Grade 12 or NQF level 4 equivalent
• Valid EB Driver’s license
• Grader Certificate of Competency (OEM or registered training provider)
• Dover Test Score ≥75 %
• Good English verbal and written communication skills
• *Competent B (preferred)
• *TMM skills programme (preferred)

*If not obtained, candidate required to successfully complete at the M&RC Training Academy

Suitable candidates must have the following work experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating a grader on surface, preference will be given to grader operators with underground mining experience.
