Overview:
- Provide and implement the necessary policy frameworks to ensure adherence to Group financial policies.
- Provide operational financial guidance to facility management teams and drive financial objectives within facilities.
- Prepare final costs for tenders and budgets.
- Prepare preliminary costs and commercial evaluations for various business scenarios.
- Prepare standard cost variance analysis on reporting variance.
Responsibilities:
Financial controls and Cost Accounting
- Assist with budgets, tenders, and expense reviews.
- Prepare product costings and analyse specific cost impacts for review and approval.
- Maintain costing database.
- Ensure Group Transfer Pricing Methodology is applied.
- Annual Cost roll up of existing and new products.
- Maintain financial system integrity, including checking signal codes are.
- Ensure accurate recording of production expenses for use in expenditure control.
- Monthly analysis of Margins, Production Expenses, Production Variance analysis (Recoveries, Yields, PV’s, NRV’s).
- Support month-end and year-end close process.

Analysis and Reporting
- Analyse and report on changes in products, materials, and methods to determine effects on cost (commercial evaluations).
- Prepare and provide reports on standard cost variances.
- Perform trend analysis on Margins, Production expenses and Production variances to identify irregularities.
- Prepare monthly financial results (actual vs. budget vs. forecast) and submit, with comments on variances, to line manager.
- Prepare month-end reconciliations and reports (Income Statement and Balance Sheet).
Operational Input
- Provide technical and operational input on operational planning of the unit and on the prioritisation of objectives.
- Indicate required changes in resources to enable achievement of work objectives.
- Apply advanced understanding of area of specialisation.
- Analyse concepts and suggest streamlined procedures.
- Provide information for reports, as required by line manager.
- Compile standardised reports and consolidate documents.
- Comply with document filing requirements and maintain and update records and systems as required.
- Assist with development/amendment of SOP's.
- Undertake IT improvement projects, where required.
- Assist with projects, implementation of systems and feasibility studies.
Requirements:
Background/experience
- 4 to 6 years’ accounting experience in an accounting role in a manufacturing organisation.
- Experience advising management on finance-related matters and implementing financial controls.
- BCom Degree in Accounting or equivalent.
Specific job skills
- Computer literacy: proficiency in Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and a fully integrated ERP system.
