Position: Senior Specialist: Risk Assessments & Data Mining

Department: Risk Management

Division: Risk Financing

Salary: R552 840 - R758 424 per annum (plus benefits)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Identify and analyze areas of potential risk that may threaten the assets or success of organizations in the public sector, including cost forecasting and predicting change and future trends
  • Conduct on-site risk surveys and ensure that CoE is insured for the correct risks regarding immovable and movable assets
  • Coordinate and assist the underwriters to conduct insurance risk surveys and the monitoring of assessments and implementation of recommendations
  • Conduct post-loss assessment to determine the extent of damage
  • Perform insurance policy audit and review in terms of the applicable limits, limitations, and exclusions
  • Provide input into the insured and uninsured risks of the CoE
  • Assist with information collation regarding annual insurance renewal
  • Conduct on-site visits about CoE projects and determine insurance compliance e.g. certificate of insurance
  • Provide feedback on governance, risk, and compliance practices and escalate unresolved issues via appropriate channels for investigation and resolution
  • Ensure that financial administration delivery processes comply with internal control and governance standards and report on any deviations

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BCom or BSc in Mathematics / Statistics or relevant equivalent NQF Level 7 qualification
  • BCom or BSc Hons degree will be preferred
  • 3 – 5 years experience in a similar environment
  • Quantitative data analysis
  • Data quality appraisal and assurance and writing of the technical report
  • Good numerical, analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Integrity and attention to detail
