Purpose of the Job

• To ensure that parcels are dispatched in an accurate and timeous manner.
• To assist the Despatch Controller with reports.
• Key Performance Areas Include:

1. 1. Call-in counter
   2. Local Deliveries
   3. Courier Deliveries
   4. Administration

Job Objectives

• Ensure that the right parcels are given to the right client when collected

• Control ID and request written authorization for persons collecting parcels
• Despatch stock to the correct supplier when sent back and control ID of person collecting stock
• Ensure that all parcels received are scan into despatch area
• Sort and allocate parcels correctly
• Identify problems in advance and report to Controller
• Ensure timeous despatch of parcels
• Verify that the amount of parcels delivered corresponds with trip sheet data and invoices;
• Ensure that Drivers complete and update trip sheets accurately
• Identify variances, consider recoveries, damages or losses and report variances to Despatch Controller
• File all courier-, local-, calling- and route lists timeously and accurately on a daily basis
• Ensure clean work area on a daily basis
• Ensure that reports are completed and follow up with relevant stakeholders

Qualifications

• Grade 12 qualification

Experience

• At least 1 years’ experience in Warehousing and/or Distribution environment
