The Road Accident Fund’s mission is to provide appropriate cover to all road users within the borders of South Africa; to rehabilitate and compensate persons injured as a result of motor vehicle accidents in a timely and caring manner; and to actively promote safe use of our roads.
Purpose of the Job:
Reporting to the Senior Manager: Security Services, the successful incumbent is accountable to manage all security vetting, administration and compliance activities and ensure all security related operations are implemented in accordance to the relevant legislation and policies.

Key Performance Areas
Security Vetting, Administration, Standards and Compliance
- Manage vetting issues and problems.
- Support team in reducing risk within RAF.
- Manage the security clearances for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage the completion and accurate recording of all security checks.
- Manage the facilitation of the pre-screening and vetting clearance applications process.
Policy Review and Implementation
- Develop and implement security plans and systems to secure all people on company premises and property.
- Manage the implementation of the strategic and annual security performance business work plans.
- Manage specific key performance indicators and measures against outcomes detailed in the security strategic plans.
- Provide advice and guidance to the relevant official on emerging issues, risks, and the implementation of changes required and insights on policy matters.
Reporting
- Develop functional reporting systems, for management, project or performance reporting.
- Ensure regular and periodic reports are reviewed and submitted as and when required to provide progress updates and/or inform management decisions.
- Substantial experience of reviewing proposals, briefings, presentations, reports, and other documentation and providing management information both verbally and in report format.
Stakeholder Management
- Maintain proactive and progressive relationships with key stakeholders.
- Deal with inquiries and requests for information from both internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage relationships with vendors, service providers or procurement teams and ensure that all relevant procured items are invoiced and paid on time.
People Management
- Manage staff in the department to ensure that they achieve their objectives in line with the strategic objectives of the RAF. Manage the implementation of human capital processes andprocedures to control/regulate workplace conflict and/ or institute corrective measures and consultation processes to address deviations from standards.
- Allocate, direct, motivate and evaluate subordinates to help them achieve their individual goals.

Qualifications and Experience
- National Diploma in Security Management/ Policing/ Criminology/ Forensic Investigation related qualification.
- Graduate related qualification added advantage.
- PSIRA Grading.
- Security Vetting Certificate.
- Relevant 6 - 8 years’ experience in a Security Vetting and Screening environment of which 2 years must have been on a superviroy level/ area of expertise.

- Knowledge of physical, personnel, document, communication and IT security.
- Knowledge of principles of security investigations.
- Knowledge of OHS Act and regulations.
