The main purpose of the job
The Junior Additive Manufacturing Assistant will support the day-to-day operations of the additive manufacturing process. The individual will be responsible for assisting with the setup, operation, and maintenance of 3D printing equipment, ensuring the efficient production of high-quality parts.
The individual will work closely with the senior manufacturing team to optimise processes, troubleshoot issues, and adhere to production timelines. This role is ideal for an entry-level professional looking to grow within the rapidly evolving field of additive manufacturing.

Nature of appointment: Two (2) year Fixed-term Support Services
Minimum salary scale (Total Cost to Company): R 144 000 per annum
Note: CUT applies an internal parity model to determine remuneration that complies with the principle of “equal pay for work of equal value”. Accordingly, the preferred candidate may expect an offer that is in line with their qualifications and years of similar experience. Minimum Qualification/ Knowledge and/or Experience
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- One (1) year of experience in Additive Manufacturing.
- Knowledge of 3D printing technologies (Polymer and Metal LPBF etc.) through formal education or practical exposure.

Desired Qualification, Knowledge and/or Experience
- Two years of experience in a manufacturing or technical support role.
- Experience with 3D printing (either in an academic, internship, or practical setting) will be a strong advantage.
