We’re looking for a talented Graphic Designer – Kidswear for a 12-month contract to create engaging, trend-led visual concepts, graphics, and branding elements that connect with our customer and reflect the Woolworths aesthetic. You’ll bring fresh, commercial ideas to life across apparel and packaging, ensuring all designs are fun, relevant, and aligned with our Kidswear vision.
Job description
Graphic Trend Research and Analysis
- Conduct research, analysis and present graphic and print trends to the Buying and Design teams.
- Understand graphic trend shifts for the upcoming season and translate these insights into commercial proposals suitable for Woolworths.
- Conduct store visits and competitor analysis to understand Woolworths’ customers.

Design Creation in line with Critical Path
- Create sketches and drawings of new designs, developing placement prints and all-over prints aligned with Buying and Design.
- Understand print direction, fabrication, manufacturing and print terminology to ensure the creation of viable products and cost implications.
- Ensure Manage all creative requests assigned timeously aligned to WMC.
- Ensure consistency of designs in line with brand guidelines.
Cross-functional Collaboration
- Collaborate across departments for seasonal campaigns.
Minimum requirements
- Preferably a relevant business diploma / degree.
- 3 – 5 Graphic Experience (Boys’ and Girls graphic design)
- Experience with licensed brands (advantageous).
Technical & Functional Competencies
- Design Tools Proficiency: Advanced skills in Adobe Create Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and other relevant packages)
- Graphic Design Principles: A solid understanding of layout, typography, color therapy and branding to create visually compelling designs

- Digital and Print Media Design: Competency in designing for a variety of media, understanding technical nuances that affect design. Decision for digital and print materials
- Print Production: Knowledge of print Production processes and specifications, materials and formats. Understanding of printing techniques, fabrication and manufacturing
- Adobe Create Suite: Ability to conduct thorough trend research, globally and locally using various platforms and sources to gather inspiration and develop design concepts that align with current and future customer demands.
- Good communication skills: to accurately convey your concepts
