Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of a Forklift driver to be based at the McCain Springs site, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Packing Shift Manager.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
To provide the necessary assistance for any forklift requirements in the department.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Safety
- Complete daily forklift checklist at the beginning and end of shift.
- Operate forklift as per required operating procedures.
Quality
- Good understanding of GMP
- Maintain high standard of 5S, housekeeping and hygiene on and around the forklift.

Delivery
- Returning product, poly and cartons after production run to the staging area.
- Supply rework materials to the rework line and take the reworked product to the relevant destination.
Performance
- Serve the lines with poly from staging area.
- Remove waste from carton erector and also vegetable waste from the sorting area.
- Moved packed pallets from the lines to the wrapping machine.
- Serve the box erector operator with boxes and also remove the ones that are no longer in use.
- Ensure that the lines have enough Chep pallets in the packing hall to stack the product.
- Ability to handle tasks outside own area of responsibility when requested to do so
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- Minimum educational qualification of Std. 10 / Grade 12,
- Valid Forklift Driver’s License
- Two years’ experience in a FMCG industry
