The SA Metal Group requires a committed, hardworking and motivated individual to join their Security team as a Control room Operator. The successful incumbent will be responsible but not limited to monitoring the cameras and compiling reports on what was observed.
The Control Room Operator's primary purpose is to provide support to the Control room Administrator. To oversee the protection of sites through monitoring and regulating the company’s procedure.
Responsibilities (NOT limited to the below)
- Monitoring/tracking of company vehicles and tracking devices.
- Daily reporting of occurrences.
- Reporting of irregular activities.
- Communicating with drivers and controllers.
- Reason for route deviation.
- Reason for the delay.
- Response on system/email/report.
- Reporting of issues to the relevant department
- The monitoring of cameras and reporting on what is recorded.

QUALIFYING EXPERIENCE
- Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent.
- Grade B PSIRA Certificate.
- 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience
- Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, CCTV).
- Problem-solving skills.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Knowledge of Company Rules & Regulations.
- Ability to work with people.
- Ability to influence other staff positively.
- Apply site procedures consistently.
- Ability to train junior staff.
- Ability to discipline junior staff.
- Sound report writing skills.
QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES
- Self-motivated.
- Inherent willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Trustworthiness and honesty.
- Being able to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills.
- Not easily influenced negatively.
- Not easily intimidated.
- Ability to motivate people.
