The Mr Price Group has an exciting career opportunity available within our Group Finance department for a Management Accountant. If you are an ambitious, meticulous individual who is looking for a role that will allow you to grow and learn within the Finance function, then this is the role for you.
You will be responsible for providing support to Group Finance and the broader finance community within the Mr Price Group.
A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and analytical skills are of utmost importance for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Consolidation, review and analysis of monthly executive reporting packs and Divisional and Group budgets.
- Interact with auditors to provide required support for group and subsidiary audits
- Present a consolidated view of our group’s financial performance (monthly reporting pack).
- Prepare Half and Yearend analyst packs and board monthly reports.
- Offer insight into business performance while influencing and supporting business planning, commercial decision-making, forecasting and the budgeting processes of the group.
- Provide financial advice by studying operational issues, applying financial principles and practices, and developing recommendations.
- Reviews and recommends modifications to accounting systems and procedures.

- Collaborate and engage with stakeholders across the Group offering business planning, and commercial and financial analysis.
- Prepare 5 Year Projections and Forecasting Analysis.
- Assisting in the preparation of interim and yearend statutory reporting, including consolidation, group annual financial statements and annual integrated report
- Ensures financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures.
- Assist in reporting system templates and report changes and finance improvement projects
- Complete monthly and ad hoc information for external/internal stakeholders
Requirements
- Must be a registered Chartered Accountant CA(SA)
- Excellent interpersonal and business relationship skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills , especially Excel
- Experience with retail clients (preferred)
- Experience in preparation of annual financial statements
- Ability to work under pressure in deadline driven environment
- Advantageous: experience with these systems: Finnivo; D365
