The Design Team Lead will contribute to the department by managing and supporting the Design team, as well as creating and overseeing all digital designs for internal teams or customers.
They will focus on preparing and managing internal and customer briefs; checking quality and providing feedback on creatives; creating design assets and collateral for internal teams; managing, training, and providing guidance to the Design team; working independently and in collaboration with others to find creative solutions to customer needs; building upon and ensuring a consistent visual identity across branded collateral.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
- Take the lead role in managing the design and creative elements of projects and be the point of contact for brand partnerships and creative projects.
- Ensure the design work produced is of the highest quality and has fulfilled the requirements of the brief.?
- Manage the Design team, including but not limited to support, training, consistent feedback, priority alignment, and motivation.
- Identify and provide upskilling opportunities for the rest of the team.?
- Coordinate and manage freelancers/service providers (as required) to ensure that design projects are delivered on time and in accordance with the budget.
- Provide clear feedback on designs and ensure it is followed through.
- Prepare, manage and delegate creative briefs received from the Sales, Key Account, and Marketing teams using task management software.?
- Create and manage assets as required for Sales, KAM, and Marketing teams.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assist with ideas for pitching and proposals.
- Ensure a consistent visual identity and look and feel across all branded collateral (whether customer or internal).
- Stay up to date with industry trends, techniques, and tools and communicate this to the rest of the team.?
- Build out and maintain the design system and brand book, as well as ensure that designs reflect the brand image and company ideals consistently.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential – please ensure you tick all these boxes:
- Degree or diploma in design or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of digital design experience.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a Design Team leader or management role.
- Minimum 2 years of marketing design experience.
- Mastered Adobe Creative Suite (preferably Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail.
- Able to manage a remote/virtual team.
- Accustomed to working creatively in conjunction with delivering admin and organisational tasks.
- Self-starter who takes initiative.
- Able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
- Strong communicator who can provide constructive feedback in order to keep the team delivery-focused and organised.
Beneficial:
- Training/experience in UI/UX.
- Experience in designing mobile apps.
- Copywriting skills.
- Experience working in a SaaS start-up environment.
