TB HIV Care (THC), in existence since 1929, is an internationally?recognised?non-profit?organisation. TB HIV Care provides health care services throughout South Africa to both the general population and communities at increased risk for HIV and TB, including adolescent girls and young women, sex workers and people who use drugs. (This is a contract position renewable based on funding) Purpose of the position Provides a high standard of radiographic chest x-ray imaging including the use of Computer Aided Detection (CAD) systems whilst ensuring that patients receive high quality care.

Delivers a high standard of service to relevant stakeholders and to a diversity of patient presentations. Communicates effectively with community and facility based teams to ensure delivery of high quality service and linkage to appropriate services.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides mobile digital chest x-ray screening for TB case finding
- Operates and utilise, in conjunction with back-up radiological support, Computer Aided Detection (CAD) systems with particular reference to Tuberculosis detection systems
- Ensures that the Ionising Radiation (for Medical Exposure) Regulations are adhered to Works alone at particular times
- Uses the Radiology Information System (RIS) for patient registration, X-ray ordering and scheduling. Recording accurate patient information relating to dose and use of consumables
- Facilitates the referral process of clients with high CAD4TB score for presumptive TB testing
- Supports referral for Xpert Ultra TB sputum testing and subsequent linkage to care
- Liaises with Radiologist (Technical Expert) on as needed basis for diagnostic and technical advice and support
- Supports referral and linkage to care for incidental CXR findings not requiring presumptive TB testing

Minimum Requirements
- Matric / grade 12
- Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent from three-year College or university
- 3 years working experience as a Radiographer
- Previous experience using CAD would be advantageous
- Evidence of continuous professional development
- Computer literacy (MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Fluency in English and isiZulu languages
- Clear criminal record
