Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance & Repairs
- Plan daily, weekly and monthly requirements and priorities with operational team
- Allocation of resources in order to complete work orders
- Ensure that any operational problem that is encountered is reported
- Assist the engineering technical services team in developing an operational plan for the year to support the production process
- Liaise with other Artisans to ensure that any problems that could overlap with other sections are proactively identified and discussed Ensure that all planned maintenance schedules are accurately completed
- Ensure that all work conducted is performed to required standards and specifications
- Identify operational priorities within the section that would ensure the optimization of the sections performance
- Participate in improvements projects
- Communicate to relevant people regarding defects, problems and equipment maintenance requirements
- Ensure correct utilisation of tools and equipment to complete tasks
Administration & Reporting
- Ensure that prescribed safety equipment is always worn
- Ensure that all safety and legal requirements are compiled to
- Compile accurate shift/work order reports
- Complete requisition for stock items required
- Ensure that technical data is accurate
- Prepare ad-hoc reports for management or other information customers
- Participate in required safety meetings and assist the in completing of safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident report for the section/area

Business Improvement
- Participate in improvement projects.
- Identify risks and threats to the process.
- Recommend aspects that can improve area performance.
- Ensure that any operational problem encountered is reported.
- Support efforts to overcome operational problems.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
Stakeholder Relations
- Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and cross-functionally.
- Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
- Sourcing, contracting and negotiating with service providers.
- Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management-related requirements and alignment where applicable.
- Collaborating with external service providers regarding the design and implementation of tools to enhance processes.
Financial Management
- Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.
- Remaining competitive on the global cost curve for surface operations.
Building a values-based organisational culture
- Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment.
ESG Compliance
- Align to international responsible mining principles.
- SA Gold Operations: Align to World Gold Council (WGC) Responsible Gold Mining Principles (RGMPs).
- SA PGM Operations: Enhance Together for Sustainability (eTfS) initiative.
SHE Compliance
- Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
- Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
SHE Management:
- Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department.
- Participate in regional/local bodies and decision-making forums in the process developing a business relevant external environment, that will result in the longer-term sustainability of the Division.
Quality Management System (QMS):
- Comply with requirements of the Quality Management System.
Focus on safe production & operational excellence
- Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence Improve our position on global industry cost curve
People
- Provide on-the-job training and coaching to team members.
- Nominate team members for developmental training.
- Ensure that all team members are adequately trained for assigned work.
- Manage team morale.
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.

The Appointee should:
- Artisan Trade Certificate (Plumber & Fitter)
- Grade 12 & N2
- 3-5 years’ experience in the Plant Environment.
- Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
- Clear security screening record.
- Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
